Melbury College

A partnership that includes Melrose School, Canterbury Campus, Merton Medical Education Service (MMES), Cobham Court and the Whatley Campus.

Welcome from the Head

Whatley Campus is a small, specialist school for pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder and associated SLC (speech, language and communication) and SEMH (social, emotional and mental health) needs. All pupils have an EHCP to support their learning and development.

Whatley Campus aims to be a supportive, nurturing environment with small class sizes and range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities. We cater for pupils in years 5 to 11 and will offer GCSE and equivalent qualifications delivered by highly specialist teachers and support staff. We will open in September 2022 in a newly renovated, state of the art building, which has been especially designed to cater to the needs of pupils with ASD. Every pupil will have a staff mentor from the outset and access to 1-to-1 mentoring sessions.

Pupils will have a bespoke timetable created to meet their individual learning needs and there will be a wide range of therapeutic provision. We will support pupils in every aspect of school life and provide them with opportunities to learn about themselves and the wider world, as well as the requirements of the curriculum. It is our aim that every young person will have the tools they need to become a successful learner and a confident individual ready for the world beyond education.
